Javi Alvarez was born in San Jose, Costa Rica in 1984. He’s a nascent filmmaker and seasoned business and M&A advisor. Javi came to the U.S. to pursue an MBA and MSc. in Applied Economics at The Ohio State University.

Mr. Alvarez moved to New York in 2015, where he founded the boutique strategy consulting firm, Alvarez Cayrol, where he’s currently Principal advisor.

Javi developed an interest in photography at a young age, but it wasn’t until 2020 that Mr. Alvarez directed and produced his first film project capturing movement with motion. Working with performance artist, Annika Rhea, he directed and produced a body of work of Annika’s action painting process that was exhibited at The Box Factory in New York City in June 2021. Later that month he shot a theater play, The Maids Experience, created by creative producer Talya Dalyan and Bella Balsamo. He is currently co-authoring, producing and directing his first short film, GROUP, with Anja Avsharian to enter the film festival circuit.

Javi’s rare combination of skills spans from a background that combines 15 years of international strategy consulting, corporate finance, marketing and operations. He’s uniquely qualified to help organizations translate business value into dynamic & artistic images that help organizations drive business results. Most recently, he directed and produced a commercial for real estate agency, Leven Real Estate
